After a back breaking weekend, and sunburn on top of sunburn, we finally finished ‘Chickenopolis’

It may not win any design awards, but we hope that the four ex battery chickens that we are adopting next weekend will like it. If they decide to give us some eggs in return, that will be fantastic, but it will be enough to see how they react to having grass under their feet.

The chickens will soon get their own page on the blog, so watch this space …. ;)

It looks lovely!!! The hens will love it!!!

That is so cool and what an excellent deed, giving 4 poor chickens a new home. I look forward to reading about their progress.

Hey Craig,

Looks great, did you dig down to prevent the foxes digging under? I am not sure if the digging is for foxes or to prevent rabbits into the allotment?

Best of luck with them.

James

Thanks James. We got the email confirming that we can still pick them up this weekend, so very excited now!

We have dug down to bury the wire, and also bent the wire out at 90 degrees away from the run where we have buried it top confuse the foxes even more. We have also put paving slabs down by the doors and secured them, so that the fox hopefully will not be able to bury underneath the door.

We’ll let you know how we get on!
