Since the weather was awful yesterday, I spent most of it in my greenhouse potting things on.
I wanted to experiment this year with different ways of growing the seventeen different varieties of chillies that I am growing.
This year I’m trialling the Quadgrow system from Greenhouse Sensation
Each of the four pots are 11 litres each, so can contain quite a lot of compost, and gives your plants a lot of a room to grow.

The pots sit on top of a water reservoir. On the bottom of each of the pots is an absorbent strip, which waters the compost from the bottom. This means that the chillies are always watered, but do not sit in water.

A really helpful extra is the 25 litre external reservoir. Once this is connected to the internal reservoir and topped up. this ensures the chillies are watered if you go away a holiday for up to two weeks. So no risk of the chillies being over/under-watered, and no need to bribe friends or neighbours to look after them.
I’ll keep the blog updated with how these chillies grow compared to the chillies grown using my ‘usual’ method.

those two products look interesting. i always worry when i go away on holiday and have to leave my little babies (chillies) to fend for themselves!
which varieties are you growing?
nice site design btw!
Thanks for the kind words about my blog!
I’d recommend those products. I went away for a week’s holiday, and everything was fine, and they are supposed to work for two weeks.
I’m growing several different varieties this year, including unusual ones like Mozambique, Laos, Bolivian Rainbow, Creolla Sella, Madagascan and one called ‘Little Monkey’s Dick!’
