Yesterday, the brains of the outfit, (in other words my wife!) said that instead of mindless digging and clearing, we should draw up a plan of where the beds are going to go, so that we only clear what we need to.
The plan for this year is on the ‘Masterplans’ page.

It has certainly focused our minds, and now we can see where everything is going to go, and it now looks like real progress is being made. Next week, I cannot use the excuse that the Six Nations is on TV to stop halfway through the afternoon!
Click here and here for larger photos of how the plot is shaping up.
We need to get the beds dug now, so that we can get our spuds and onions in. I’m aching now as I type this – God knows what I will feel like in the morning!

Hey Craig,
Like the photos. A little tip for you, that I learnt a little too late, there are people who sell off their old scaffolding planks – they are normally 4m long and are superb. I know of people charging £1 a metre and so they are great value as well.
Looking forward to your updates, they remind me that I have to get up to my plot!
Best wishes.
James
Thanks for the tip James, I’ll definitely keep a look out for that!
Thanks for the comments about the blog. We want to keep bees at some point, so we’re keeping an eye on your blog as well. I’ve also added you to the list of blogs on my front page.
I’ll be checking back with interest to see how you get on, and also for tips for when we get some bees.
Also, if you have any more tips like the one about the planks, they are all gratefully received!
